The food bank visits Brown Bear Day Care

Brown Bear Day Cares’ School Age Cubs spent the past several months discussing the importance of helping others and contributing to society. With these discussions in mind, they developed and created a lemonade stand to raise money for the Food Bank. They successfully made $100 in sales, which was matched by Brown Bear. During our visit, they proudly provided a $200 cheque for the Food Bank. After their visit from Theresa & Shad Qadri, they sat for lunch, grateful for the food they had before them. It was an inspiring morning.

Overwhelming Community Response to the Ottawa Area Tornado Disaster

The food bank opened up its doors to accept donations on behalf of our friends and neighbours in West Carleton. All donations are going to the West Carleton Food Access Centre. We were overwhelmed with the response from the community not only by the generous donations but also their willingness to help out! Here’s some highlights from Monday’s busy session:

The 1st Stittsville Scout Group has been a long time supporter of the food bank and their hard work and generosity is greatly appreciated by the food bank. Some of the group dropped by the food bank to donate the money they collected on their annual food drive. Thanks Scouts!
